Community note: this is probably my last post on Medium. Going forward, I will create posts on the amazing Web3 social media on the Internet Computer, and share a homepage of links. After 8 good years, this is my goodbye to this platform.

This is my first long-form post since January 2021, when I wrote “Announcing the Internet Computer ‘Mainnet’ and a 20-Year Roadmap.” It’s time to provide a consolidated overview of the journey to where we are today, and describe the exciting path ahead. In this post, for the first time I talk about some aspects of our history, explain what is coming, and outline reasons why the project will succeed big.

The story of the Internet Computer is not an ordinary one — it’s an extraordinary project, powered by a community of brilliant people, and the vision, mission and technology have unique power.

This is for the ICP community, the blockchain community, the mainstream world, colleagues, associates, supporters, and friends.
